Kate Middleton's fashion hits and misses in pictures

We deliver our verdict on the Duchess of Cambridge's wardrobe choices

We weren't sure about this L.K. Bennett dress the first time she wore it and we're not sure about it now. Even though we're not fans of the ageing in-built jacket, at least we can be grateful she didn't pair it with corked wedges. The Duchess was continuing the First World War commemoration tour at the Tower of London's poppy installation with William and Harry.

The Royals began their tour of remembrance at a World War One commemoration in Belgium. For this event, the Duchess sported a chic cream coat dress with a Peter Pan collar, pearl earrings and finished the look off with a coral, floral hat.

Wearing a navy blazer for a second time this week, the Duchess officially bored us. The blue jacket adds nothing to this Stella McCartney dress and if we have to see those wedges one more time…

The Duchess took in the gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games with Harry and William. Looking like she had raided her Olympic wardrobe from a few summer's ago, Kate had a very navy day in a Zara blazer, J Brand skinny jeans and her favourite Stuart Weitzman corked wedges. Perhaps not a revolutionary look, but failsafe and chic.

Celebrating Prince George's first birthday, Kate wore a green tea dress from Suzannah, which was a perfect fit for the Sensational Butterflies show at the Natural History Museum.

For the Wimbledon Gentlemen's Singles Final, the Duchess modelled Jonathan Saunders's Evelyn dress. Suitably summery, this colourful confection is one of our favourite seasonal looks that Kate has plumped for.

Kate gave the Tour de France a royal send-off in a deep green Erdem 'Allie' wool crepe coat and yep, you guessed it her nude L.K.Bennett heels. Fine for fulfilling her winter duties, but a coat dress in July? A wardrobe faux pas from us.

Redeeming herself from her faux pas the previous day, Kate took in the tennis at Wimbledon in a stunning white lace Zimmermman dress first worn in Australia. She paired it with her Christy Ng signature fan clutch and red pashmina.

For a trip to visit school children in Islington, North London, the Duchess chose a raspberry-hued shift dress by Goat. Ill-fitting and clearly too big for her slender frame, her heavy, doll-like hair didn't tick the right boxes, either.

For her seventh public outing in a month, the Duchess plucked this elegant Alexander McQueen shirt and pencil skirt from her wardrobe to re-open Bletchley Park. It's been almost three years since she debuted the ensemble for a tour of Birmingham in August 2011.

Perhaps it's the strange pearly hue of Kate's coat dress paired with those predictable nude-beige courts, but this outfit is doing nothing to offset the Duchess's slim frame at the St. George's Chapel service for the Knights of the Garter. We expected more from London Fashion Week favourite Christopher Kane, who was behind the iridescent creation.
